Dani Rojas Cubillas

Personal Information

Dani is a 23-year-old boy who grew up in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Due to his bilingual upbringing (he holds Dutch and Spanish nationality), he can speak both languages. Having two nationalities makes it easier for him to adapt to other cultures and environments. He is used to being away from home due to his international internships (in Austria as a ski instructor and in Spain as a kite surf instructor).

Dani is an enthusiastic boy who is a very social person who is always interested in other people's lives. He has the ability to read different situations, on and off the field. He always tries to improve himself and work harder to achieve his goal.

Dani graduated from high school (MBO level) in June 2024 and immediately enrolled at Mohawk Valley Community College, where he currently is in his freshman year holding. 3.2 GPA.

Athletic Information

Dani is a 5'10 ft left wing back with a history as a left or right-winger. He is left-footed, but he is very comfortable using his right foot. His strengths are mainly his speed, strong body and his ability to read the game. His first touch is good, and he is not afraid to play a long ball. His strongest point are balls in the air, using his body in duels on and off the ground, and finding spaces to play the ball. Furthermore, he is good in aerial duels, and he doesn’t shy away from a duel.

This season at MVCC he was a starter in a historic season where he won the NJCAA Division 3 national tournament. He started in 15 out of the 19 games, accumulating 1,275 minutes and providing 2 assists, playing throughout the backline.

Played hoofdklasse (5th highest youth level NL) in the U19, changed from LW to LB.
1st senior season, covid ended the season (20-21).
2nd senior season played for the 2nd team, trained a lot with the 1st team and made my debut (21-22).
3rd senior season (22-23), played the whole year for the 1st team, often in the starting 11 as a LB, ended 2nd in the league.

“Dani is a very social young man, articulate and always polite. He is a guy who keeps the group together, both on and off the field.

He is a left wing back, but he also definitely can play as a left/right winger. He always gets ahead of the game, and does not shy away from duels. His commitment is always great, and that makes Dani a real winner.

We are convinced that Dani can make a good contribution to the school and the team, both as a sportsman and as a person.
